Milo William Frey, 86, Rockdale
ROCKDALE - Milo William Frey, 86, of Rockdale, died at his home on Saturday, July 24, 2010.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1924, in Cambridge, the son of William and Nora (Anderson) Frey. Milo graduated from Cambridge High School in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Upon his return he worked as a clerk at the post office in Cambridge, retiring in 1983 as a rural route carrier.
On Aug. 10, 1955, he was married to Elizabeth Larson at Rockdale Lutheran Church. Together they built a home on the family farm, and over the years he has planted a forest around their home.
Milo has stayed active throughout the years with playing ball in the Rockdale and Utica areas, bowling, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, as well as the Rockdale Lutheran Church.
Milo is survived by his wife, Betty of Rockdale; sister, Lois (Vern) Febock of London; sister-in-law, Millie Larson of Madison; two brothers-in-law, Warren (Pat) Larson of Rockdale and Leslie Haakenson of Edgerton; a special niece, Diane Roang of Madison; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, at the Rockdale Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Dowling officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at the church, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Military graveside rites will be conducted at the Rockdale Cemetery.
